“Prepare students for their God-given responsibilities in the family, church, community and nation.” An important part of our mission to prepare students for their responsibilities is to teach them to be leaders.

To facilitate this, Countryside Christian School implemented a programed called IMPACT (IMpacting the Pittsburg Area Community Together).

In this program, students take ownership of a project that has an impact on the Pittsburg community.  Students are taught how to organize their thoughts on paper, make an action list, gather supplies and manpower, implement the plan, write thank you notes, and finally give a report of the accomplishment.  By owning projects, students develop positive skills and character traits such as determination, confidence, organization, civic-mindedness and public speaking.

A few of the projects students have been involved with so far are:

Hosting a “thank you” lunch for the City of Pittsburg Parks and Recreation and Public Works departments.  CCS chose them because they are the ones responsible for maintaining the streets and parks and clearing the roads during inclement weather.

Designing a long-term plan to make improvements to the playground that the Countryside Christian Church allows us to use.

Collecting a minimum of 100 canned goods in honor of our 100th day of school and delivering them to Wesley House, a local organization that provides food to those in need.

Hosting a “Staff Appreciation Breakfast” for the staff of St. Mary’s Catholic school.  St. Mary’s  has been very generous and supportive of CCS and we wanted to show our appreciation for all they have done for us.
