Children; a blessing from God. “Train up a child in the way he should go and he will not depart from it.” A new model car includes detailed instructions. One can get a manual for fixing just about anything. However, the greatest treasure on earth comes without clear instructions. A child. The scriptures tell us to ask for wisdom.
A few years ago a young mother, concerned about the responsibility of training their children, began considering the best way to go about such an ominous task. Knowing that she wanted her children to grow up with the knowledge that God is the center of our existence, she became concerned about the efforts of our society to expel God from its educational institutions and other public organizations. She knew a Christian school could be of great benefit in keeping a Christian view of life in front of our youth at all times. Slowly God began to show Mrs. DeeAnn Allen that He had already planted that seed in her heart and had His hand on her to get this ball rolling–and so began the story of Countryside Christian School.
After seeking prayer support from Christian friends and family, she began the process by finding other area residents who were also interested in a local Christian school. They formed a steering committee that met monthly and worked hard to lay the groundwork for a school. The leadership of Countryside Christian Church, where Mrs. Allen and her husband, Terry, and their children attended, knew of Mrs. Allen’s undertaking and invited her to attend one of their elder meetings to share the committee’s accomplishments. By the end of the meeting, the elders of the church had agreed to provide the facility for the school.
The steering committee ushered in a school board that would have eight months to have everything in place. God led the way as curriculum was ordered, teachers were hired, enrollment commenced and classrooms were furnished. On August 16, 2007, Countryside Christian School opened its doors for the very first time.
Countryside Christian School exists to glorify Jesus Christ by revealing truth, imparting knowledge, stimulating spiritual growth and developing Christian character in young men and women.
